Transportation

The Citizens Council point persons for transportation, Walt Humann and Jere Thompson, Jr., are longtime leaders in key issues involving public transit and roads that have great consequences for the North Texas region. Mr. Humann has been a champion of area-wide public transit for decades. Mr. Thompson, a former chair of the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), was instrumental in the fight to allow NTTA to compete to construct and operate State Highway 121, ensuring that billions of dollars in future toll revenue will be redeployed in the North Texas region.

The DCC’s legislative transportation priorities are to stop revenue from North Texas gasoline taxes from being diverted to projects in other parts of the state, greater transparency at TxDOT and first option for NTTA on toll projects in North Texas.
